CFA was formed in 2007 with approval of the IRS as a charitable organization. CFA holds easements in Ohio and North Carolina. We currently hold easements for the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio Department of Transportation, Cuyahoga Community College and Wetlands Resource Center. CFA works with existing watershed groups and conservancy organizations. We have worked with the Huff Run and Captina Creek conservancies to identify and protect critical stream and wetland habitats.
Our primary source of funding is from the protection of property that is used for compensatory mitigation. These projects go through an environmental review and permitting process and are monitored over a 10 year period to ensure their success.
